Hood and ventilation washing activities can negatively impact water quality. This happens when equipment is washed with or without soaps and degreasers, and the wash water is allowed to enter the stormdrain. PACE developed the PACE Allies Hood Cleaner program to provide education and training on proper Best Management Practices (BMP’s) to companies providing these services. PACE offers an on-line training and certification test for businesses that offer kitchen hood cleaning services. (This training is the same as the one for Pressure Washers). Simply click on the button to your right with the water drop icon entitled "Pressure Washing Test". All businesses that are PACE Allies receive free advertising to businesses requiring their services. PACE follows-up annually with Ally’s to ensure BMPs are still being properly implemented and to provide them with any new information on emerging technologies.

Pet waste can contain bacteria that are carried in rainwater and snowmelt – ending up untreated in Colorado’s lakes, rivers, streams, and wetlands. Remember to always clean up after your pet!
